Do not allow anyone to dictate your actions, and accept that people are different with ideas and opinions, and everyone has a different lifestyle. Difference does not mean one is better than the other or more dedicated to his work. Everyone ultimately dreams of success.

However, everyone reacts differently to emotional stimulation. No two people process events or information in the same way. Each person has their way of doing things. It applies particularly to leaders in any field, whether they are coaches in the company, CEOs, or entrepreneurs.

However, we apply a lot of general self-help tips that those who give them assume are suitable for everyone, including personal routines, habits, and tricks such as strategies to enhance productivity, healthy food, appropriate behavior, bedtimes, getting rich, how to start an online business, and many more.

However, none of this will benefit you or get you anywhere, and this also applies to executives and business leaders for the simple reason that they do not allow anyone to dictate how they think or behave.

True leaders follow their path, trust their senses, and have the courage and faith to do things their way. Of course, they have mentors and teachers, but this mentoring is different from others, as it guides them in their matters, not as useless nonsense spreads these days.

The worst thing about all this public content is that its publishers have no goal but to increase likes, profits, and the number of followers; they do not care about the person's interest, and they publish any trendy trend appropriate for the age. Their task is to saturate millions of readers without caring about what they want to read.

Compare that to what Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple for Smart Devices, said during his famous graduation speech at Stanford University in 2005:

"Your time is limited, so do not waste it living someone else's life, do not limit yourself to living with the results of others' thinking, and do not let the noise of their opinions silence your inner voice. Most importantly, dare to follow your heart and intuition, as these two exactly know what you want to become. Otherwise, it is secondary."

Live Your Life

Jobs was right about popular principles or beliefs being a trap. If Jobs only knew how many people had fallen into this trap through Apple's cutting-edge technology, he would have gone crazy.

The biggest irony of our time is that most highly admired successful executives and business leaders don't waste a minute reading or republishing this popular nonsense because they are too busy with important tasks.

According to the latest report by business services website Domo and CEO.com, 61% of Fortune executives do not use social media at all. On the other hand, the rest - almost three-quarters - use LinkedIn only, and a few are active on it, not because they have more important things to worry about, but because they find these means worthless.

Executives are known for their love of reading. They read classic literature, popular fiction, historical biographies, books about business by competent authors such as American management consultant Peter Drucker, or dramatic stories about how seasoned executives overcome adversity to achieve great results.

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates said his favorite business book is an old book he borrowed from mentor and tycoon Warren Buffett called Business Adventures by John Brooks.

Gates explains that Brooks, a New Yorker writer, was a great storyteller with deep knowledge of big companies like Xerox Printing Services, General Electric Industries, and Ford Automobiles and deep insights into what it takes to succeed in a truly global business.

“Unlike a lot of recent business writers, Brooks did not cut his work short on tutorials or simplified explanations for success, and he did not write articles with lists of tips and information, but rather long articles that address issues, delve deeper into the issues, introduce some of the characters that deserve admiration, and talk about their success,” Gates says.

Gates goes on to say that the book is still popular today because it talks about human nature and how leaders react to difficult circumstances, as much as it talks about specific companies, and this human factor (drama) is what inspires readers to think and draw conclusions related to their circumstances.
